A clothing line worn by women in many industrialized societies around the world generally as either underwear or as a swimsuit is the women's thong! The word "thong" is often used conversely with the word "g-string".

In most western countries, North and South America, Australia, including most of Europe and parts of Asia Thong swimsuits are generally accepted to some degree. In Australia the term thong usually refers to a kind of rubber sandal, but the terms g-string and thong are both used.
